Purpose in the Journey's Pre-Algebra course is designed to provide support to homeschool families who are ready for a high school level course. Purpose in the Journey doesn't want families to give up homeschooling because the math is too difficult and would like to partner with parents in this journey. We invite you to join our Pre-Algebra class! With personalized instruction and small class sizes, students receive the attention they need to excel in this high school level course. Course Description: Pre-Algebra is designed as a bridge to Algebra 1 and it introduces fundamental algebraic concepts and skills, including solving equations, working with variables, and understanding basic mathematical relationships. Pre-algebra aims to prepare students for a standard high school algebra course by building a solid foundation in mathematical concepts. The fee for this course is $465 ($420 for the full course and $45 printing fee). Pre-requisites for Pre-Algebra: *7th or 8th Grade Math course -OR- *a strong math student who has completed a 6th Grade Math course Target Audience: Homeschool families who need additional support in their high school mathematics education without the high costs of private institutions or full day co-ops. This course includes: *A minimum of 30 LIVE classes taught online, Thursdays 2:30 - 3:30 PM between 9/4/25 and 5/21/26 *20 Math Lab sessions offered throughout the course where students can get extra help *All lesson materials, answer keys, and 10-12 assessments *Lesson plans for student learning portfolios *Additional videos and helps throughout the week, posted on the members-only portion of the website *30% discount for one-on-one tutoring sessions throughout the course (9/4/25 to 5/21/26) This course DOES NOT include: *Grading - students and parents are responsible for keeping track of all homework and assessment grades according to your state laws. Detailed answer keys and grading suggestions will be provided. *Physical transcript or report card - students and parents are responsible for recording necessary information according to state laws and life after high school. A blank grade card (specific to this course) as well as suggestions for record keeping will be provided. *Additional materials necessary to complete the course, including but not limited to a computer or tablet, calculator, writing utensils or extra paper. A small supply list will be sent at the beginning of August.
