Rachel Guenther
Rachel has always had a passion for investing in the next generation, and mathematics has been her favorite avenue for doing so. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Missouri and has spent the past 15 years teaching in a variety of classroom settings.
Over the years, she discovered that one-on-one tutoring often produces the most meaningful breakthroughs. Watching a student’s understanding shift from confusion to clarity—and seeing the confidence that follows—has been one of the greatest joys of her career.
As a homeschool parent herself, Rachel understands both the rewards and the challenges that come with learning at home. She is committed to partnering with families by providing encouragement, clarity, and high-quality instruction. Her goal is to help students and parents alike view math not as a source of frustration, but as a subject that fosters confidence, curiosity, and long-term success.

Rachel's Story
If you had told me years ago that my husband and I would be homeschooling our three kids, I probably would have laughed. But here we are—five years in—and what started as a leap of faith has become one of the greatest adventures of our family’s life.
Along the way, I noticed something: math often turned into the subject that caused the most stress, especially as kids grew older. I knew it didn’t have to be that way. With my background in teaching and tutoring, I began weaving together what I loved—clear instruction, creative learning, and family involvement—with what my kids (and others) needed: encouragement, confidence, and practical tools.
That’s how Purpose in the Journey was born. It’s not just about math lessons; it’s about giving families space to breathe, connect, and enjoy learning together. My vision is simple: to be a resource, not a replacement, for your homeschool journey. Sometimes that looks like a tutoring session, other times a full course, and sometimes even an educational field trip that turns into a memory your family treasures.
For me, it all comes down to this: every homeschool journey has a purpose. I’d be honored to come alongside your family as you discover yours.
